This is guidance for retrieving your item removed from checked-in luggage. Request return of your item as quickly as possible as this will improve the chance of return to you. There is no certainty that your item will be able to be returned to you, and your airline is not obligated to do so. Items removed from checked luggage by AvSec are transferred to your airline after twenty-four hours. The airline will dispose of items, as per their conditions of carriage after retention of between three and seven days.
When contacting the AvSec station or your airline, please supply:
Once we have received your information, we will advise you if your airline has uplifted your item or if possession has been retained by AvSec. If more than a day has passed, please contact your airline instead.
