Rights and entitlements

The Civil Aviation Act 1990 and the Carriage of Goods Act 1979 have information about compensation for lost or damaged luggage, and costs you may have incurred from delays:

• International flights: the Civil Aviation Act 1990(external link) sets out what you’re entitled to claim from your airline. It’s also important to check the conditions on your airline ticket and travel insurance.
• Domestic flights: Your rights are set out in the Carriage of Goods Act 1979(external link).
