Purpose

This Advisory Circular (AC) describes an acceptable means of compliance and provides the syllabus for training and assessment for applicants for an area control surveillance ratings.

This AC relates specifically to Civil Aviation Rules Part 65 Subpart G – specifically rule 65(301)(1)(v).

Change notice

Revision 3 makes the following changes—

1. updates the rating terminology from area control radar to area control surveillance in alignment with Amendment 5 to Part 65; and
2. makes minor editorial changes.
