Performance Based Navigation Instrument Flight Procedures Implementation and Proposed Airspace Changes
As a result of the significant impact of the COVID-19 pandemic across the New Zealand aviation environment, Airways NZ had previously further delayed the implementation of Performance Based Navigation (PBN) instrument flight procedures and associated airspace changes. Airways now plan to implement these changes in December 2023.
Given the time delay since earlier consultation periods CAA is re-commencing full consultation for these proposed changes. All stakeholders should resubmit their previous feedback if still applicable or submit new feedback based on the current application information as now provided by Airways. Also during this time, any further airspace amendments relating to the Hawke's Bay and Gisborne review will be considered and may be petitioned to the Director.
A summary of submissions for the current consultation period will be published in early March 2023. If it is considered necessary a further consultation period and CAA public consultation meetings may also be held in late March 2023.
Consultation issued 05 Dec 2022.
