It is with great sadness that the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand acknowledges the tragic passing of Brendon Bourne, Flight Examiner and valued member of our Licensing & Standards team.
Brendon has worked as a Flight Examiner for both CAA and Aspeq for many years. Brendon was deeply passionate about aviation; especially in training and examining – a characteristic many will recognise having engaged with him over his long career in general aviation.
He was well-respected by all who’d worked alongside him, and his skill, knowledge and expertise was highly regarded both by his CAA colleagues and also the aviation training sector.
The CAA Licensing and Standards team and the CAA as a whole, mourn Brendon's passing and wish to convey our deepest sympathies to his family for their loss, in particular his two children, of whom he was so proud.
