This workshop is designed to give you the knowledge and skills to investigate an occurrence.

By attending this workshop, you’ll understand the reasons, aims, and purposes of occurrence investigations. This includes the following elements of an occurrence investigation:

  • Definitions and legislation underpinning occurrence investigation
  • Roles and responsibilities of different agencies
  • Reporting requirements
  • Remaining objective and avoiding cognitive bias
  • Interviewing techniques – asking the right questions
  • Contributing factors
  • Scene investigation
  • The content of an investigation report – what’s expected in a report
  • Strategies for feeding information from an occurrence report back into an organisation
  • Making sure positive change comes from an occurrence investigation

Workshop fee

The workshop fee is $195 including GST. Accommodation and travel costs are your responsibility, but morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea will be provided.
